Can I register a player later this summer or fall?
The simple answer is to register early. If you are unable to register early, you can still register as long as the registration is open. After registration is closed and teams are established, you will be placed onto a waiting list. If space is available, you will be contacted by our registrar with instructions on how to proceed. To be placed on the waiting list, email the following information to [email protected]
1. Your Name
2. Child's name
3. Child's date of birth
4. Phone Number
5. Email address
When will players be called?
Coaches will first contact players in August for the fall and April for the spring. The coaches will contact you and give all the information needed in regards to practice days and times. Each coach sets his or her own practice schedule. The practice fields are the same as playing fields, unless otherwise determined by the coach or fields staff. All of our teams play at the Danville Area Soccer Park on Market Street across from the State Hospital grounds, except for our 12U Division. 12U teams play at the Cherokee Fields in Riverside. Directions for all fields can be found on our Danville AYSO website.
Can a player or parent choose the team their child plays on?
NO, Only Coaches and Assistant Coaches are allowed to have their own children on their team. Coaches may choose one Certified Referee for their team. All other children are assigned randomly to achieve a fair balance of players based on age and ability. No other special arrangements will be made. We are not able to honor requests for friends, neighbors, etc.
Can families request that siblings be on the same team?
YES, siblings will be placed on the same team at your request. The siblings must be in the same Division or one child may "play up" with approval from the RC. Please fill in the siblings’ name on each registration form. Please do not assume that siblings will be placed on the same team without your request.
Can my child play on the same team as a friend?
Due to team balancing and fair play, the only requests honored will be for siblings. However, Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Referees will have their own children placed on their team.
It's the middle of August or April and I haven't heard from my coach. What should I do?
Please don’t panic if you hear of or see teams practicing and your child has not been called. Not all teams start practicing at the same time. Also, some of the coaches may still be out of town on vacations. If your child hasn’t been called by the 15th of the month, please contact the Regional Commissioner at [email protected].
